Community Education Programs
We understand; the topic of death is a very sensitive issue for most people. It is often a time of great sadness, emotional confusion, and financial strain. However, it doesn't have to be! We're here to help you present the community you serve with the knowledge and tools they need to make thoughtful decisions for themselves and the people they care about the most--their families.
Why Community Education Programs?

What to Expect
- Casual & Comfortable- We know that not everyone is comfortable walking into the funeral home to get their questions answered so we created these events to speak to people in more familiar and informal settings.
- Informative - During these casual events, we share information on a variety of pre-planning topics and answer basic questions.
- No Pressure-Apart from our Lunch & Learn events, no appointments are scheduled at our Community Education Programs. We desire solely to get this information into the hands of as many people as possible. Anyone, of course, is welcome to reach back out to us should they want to pursue the pre-planning process.

Veteran Presentations
We often find that many veterans are unaware of the benefits available to them from the VA. So we take it upon ourselves at Lord & Stephens to educate our brave men and women about all the options open to them.

Easy As Pie Presentations
Learn how planning ahead for your final wishes can shield your family from making difficult decisions at a highly emotional time, ensure that your requests are carried out, and how pre-planning can realize financial benefits today. Join us for dessert and learn how planning for your final wishes can be ‘Easy as Pie.’

Lunch & Learn Presentations
Our Lunch & Learns are a great opportunity to enjoy a complimentary meal on us and get some of your pre-planning questions answered in a relaxed and casual setting.
Key Features:
- Held monthly at local area restaurants throughout Clarke, Madison, Oconee, and Oglethorpe counties
- Advertised and promoted through Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes
- Appointments are set at the end of the presentation
Lunch & Learns are promoted through targeted mailings, digital billboards, newspaper advertising, and through our website.
Fait Based Presentations
Churches and faith-based organizations offer a unique opportunity to engage in end-of-life discussions. Although it often remains a difficult subject, our faith-based presentations engage the faithful with a thoughtful and dignified approach to pre-planning.
