Dorcas Rebecca “Becky” Wilson Goldman, a faithful and precious servant of the Lord and a beloved wife, mother, and friend to many, was born on August 26, 1938, and passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Manor Lake Assisted Living in Athens, GA.
Married 58 years to her loving husband Bobby, who preceded her in death, Becky beautifully treasured and loved her family, friends, her church families in both Mississippi and Georgia, the Atlanta Braves, crossword puzzles, a good game of Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles with her Manor Lake friends, and all things chocolate. However, first and foremost in her life was a deep and abiding love for God. Becky faithfully attended church over the course of her life and her sweet hugs, gentle smiles, and joy for worshiping will forever be treasured memories for her church families.
Prior to moving to Georgia in 2007, she and Bobby lived in Potts Camp, Mississippi for almost 40 years and attended the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. They moved to Georgia to be near their daughter and her husband and attended New Life Apostolic Church in Watkinsville.
Becky worked as a Postmaster for the US Postal Service in Waterford, Mississippi and retired in 1999. One of Becky’s favorite things in life was to create picture scrapbooks for her beloved family members and close circles in life. Now those scrapbooks hold extra special meaning, knowing many of the pictures and memories captured were lovingly placed by a precious lady. She was known for sending hundreds of cards of love and care over the course of her life. Becky was an encourager with a genuine love for people. Her beautiful, gentle personality touched countless lives and she will be forever remembered and cherished for her special way of uplifting others. Someone recently said she was a great imitator of Christ and there is no truer statement that could be made.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. J. Frank & Lillian Wilson and a sister, Bettie Wayne Ash.
She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Beth & Steve Russell; her sisters, Joanna Murphy, Frankie Bishop (Rev. Raymond) & Martha Lee Carson (Rev. Tony) and her brothers, Rev. John Wilson (Sue), Rev. Steve Wilson (Pat), Sam Wilson (Darlene), Rev. Mike Wilson (Joyce) & Tim Wilson (Daphane). She is also survived by her sister-in-law (Bobby’s sister) and her husband, Melvis & Jon Click and a host of other family & friends who loved her dearly.
