Tony Edward Garmon

Tony Edward Garmon, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the age of 65.

Born in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Henry Lee Garmon and Alma Burnett Turner. Tony retired as a Lieutenant with the Gwinnett County Fire Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Elberton Gun Club and former local chapter President of the National Wild Turkey Federation. Tony also enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the APA League at The Rail in Athens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Verlon and Eunice Burnett.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sandy Garmon; three children, Marty (Mollie) Garmon, Mallory (Josh) Poitevint and Mandy Garmon; four grandchildren, Patrick Garmon, Grant Garmon, Rhett Poitevint and arriving in August, Laurel Beth Poitevint.

Memorial services for Tony will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gwinnett County Retired Firefighters, Inc. at PO Box 1702, Clarkesville, GA 30523.
