Stephen Ray Sears

Stephen "Steve" Ray Sears, 54, of Colbert, died died peacefully in his home surrounded by love on Thursday, July 15, 2021, after a brave battle with cancer.
Steve grew up in Somerset, Kentucky before moving to Georgia in 1984 and becoming a bounty hunter. Steve met and later married the love of of his life, Candy, in 1992. After ending his career in professional criminal retrieval, he began working with Reinicke Athens Inc. where he worked tirelessly for 23 years.
Steve was proceeded in death by his father Ray Edward Sears and sister Jacqueline Lawana Burchett. Steve is survived by his wife Candy Sears, Mother Joyce Stinson (Larry), children Amy Sears, Ozzy Dews (Emily), Nathan Helm (Danielle), Kaitlan Inglett (Ben) and Kayley Morris (Jonathan) and Grandson Jaxon Mosko, as well as sisters Rita Cochran (Zane) and Robyn Beshears.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 18, at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will follow in Winterville Cemetery.
