Richard James (Dick) Scheall passed away on September 19, 2022.
Dick was born on September 7, 1933. He was the youngest of seven children born to Fred and Agnes Scheall of Cleveland, Ohio. He spent his early years on a farm where he developed a steadfast work ethic that endured throughout his lifetime. He joined the United States Marine Corps shortly after his high school graduation and remained on active duty during the days of the Korean War. After his time in the military, he relocated to southwest Florida, later to Atlanta, and has spent the last 40 years in Athens, Georgia as a dedicated Bulldawg.
He is predeceased by his wife, LaRita Moretz Scheall, and two children, Susie Scheall Alderman and Tamara Scheall Brown. He is survived by his sister, Agnes Scheall Dudley, as well as children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He will be lovingly remembered as a man with an overwhelmingly unselfish desire to provide for his loved ones at all costs. He will be honored in a private memorial service by his family.
