Richard Grimes

Richard Grimes, age 77,  of Lexington, GA. passed away December 29th, 2021 peacefully with his family by his side.

He was born January 29, 1944 in Montezuma Indiana to the  late Carl and Eva Smith Griffin.  He was also preceded in death by  two sisters Brenda Griffin Koch, and Cheryl Griffin White of Indiana.

Richard  is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah  Grimes, grandson Drew Wilcox of the home.

Brother  Carl Griffin of Sidel Il.  sister Karen Griffin Johnson for Rockville, In. Children  Starla Edwards and Lorie Jackson of Clinton, Indiana. Lisa Spurling of Muscatine, Iowa, Lorie  Diane Grimes of Braselton, GA.  Shelly Grimes Zellner , of Colbert, GA.   Craig Estepp of Tucson, AZ.,  Danielle Wilcox of Colbert, GA.     21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Richard's passions were raising cows, horses, and working the  land.   On any given pretty day you  could find him in the back forty on his tractor.   He was known far and wide for  being a master carpenter and electrician.

Richard took an early retirement from Athens Regional Medical Center after 31 years of employment due to unforeseen health issues.

It was his wish not to have a service, Richard asked that he be remembered as he once was.
