Peggy Sue Medlin

July 18, 1935 — September 8, 2022

Watkinsville, Georgia

Peggy Sue Medlin, 87, of Watkinsville, passed away on September 8, 2022. Born on July 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Williams and Pearlene Cobb Williams. Peggy had a passion for taking care of others as reflected by over 50 years in the nursing profession.  She held a variety of positions, from working in the ICU as a critical care nurse, to professor of nursing and hospital administrator.  Peggy moved from Birmingham to Bogart in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed the friends she made at her Sunday School class at Prince Avenue Baptist Church.  She loved her family, sewing and embroidery, and coffee.  Peggy attended the University of Alabama where she received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees and remained a lifelong devoted and avid fan of the Crimson Tide.  She was stubborn and had a spine of steel, but she gave wonderfully warm and soft hugs.  Peggy Sue Williams was greatly loved and she will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Medlin and her sister, Sylvia Steele.  Survivors include her children, Mark Medlin (spouse Roz) of Birmingham, AL, G’Anne Johnson (spouse Glen) of Watkinsville, GA, Susan Medlin of Phoenix, AZ, and Karen Kelso (spouse Rob) of Wilton, CT, five grandchildren, Amber Miller, Travis Thomas, Andrew Kelso, Ella Kelso, Sydney Kelso; and three great grandchildren, Rylan Lily Miller, Masa Miller, Kan Miller; brother, Donald Williams.
