Marceline Williams Drake passed away on May 14, 2020. She was born on March 5, 1947 and grew up living her entire life on Meyers Farm Road, Arnoldsville, GA and attended the Oglethorpe County School System.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill & Flora Lee Plott Williams; brother William (Bill) T. Williams; sister Pauline Marie Williams; maternal grandparents, Tom & Fannie Fields Plott; and brother-in-law, Harold R. Duncan.
Marceline is survived by her sister, Peggy Williams Duncan of Winterville, GA; nephews, Frank C. Dudley of Chicago, IL, Christopher Dudley of Winterville, GA; sister-in-law, Linda Williams of Winterville, GA; nephews, Kevin Williams (Kasey) and Kasin Fuquay-Varina, NC; niece, Laura Hurst (John), Donna & Layla of Arnoldsville, GA.
One of her proudest accomplishments was working at Gold Kist in the Human Resources Department for over 30 years. She loved her job & she enjoyed her retirement. One other accomplishment she was most proud of was getting a young friend, Jonathan Cook, to further his education after high school. She was so proud when he gradated with a degree with Ag-Science.
Marceline was a loving sister, aunt & friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the Beech Haven Bible Study Group of Athens, GA. She was never one to let her mind go to waste; she was an avid reader and was able to speak on any subject you wanted to discuss. She loved Nascar Racing, Georgia football, NFL (Big Steeler Fan) and enjoyed Old Time Country music and Gospel singing. She also enjoyed going out to dinner with her Gold Kist friends.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Arnoldsville Cemetery on Yancy Road with Pastor Douglas Duncan officiating.
