Lawrence "Larry" McCauley

Lawrence “Larry” McCauley, 75, of Athens, GA and formerly of Crawford, GA, passed away on St. Patty’s Day, Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

Larry was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to Ohio via Canada and later to Georgia. Larry was an avid ship modeler and did several WWII models in his lifetime. Larry retired from DairyPak (Evergreen Packaging) after 45 years.

He was the beloved husband for 42 years of Diane Grospitch McCauley; loving father of Michael Sean (Carmen) McCauley, Michelle (Ronald) Harry of Florida, and Matthew (Heather) McCauley; dear grandfather of Peyton McCay, Megan McCauley, Colin McCauley, Sarah Harry, Abby Harry, and Gavin McCauley; dear brother of Irene (Thomas) Bunyak of Ohio; and special cousin to Hazel and Alan White of Northern Ireland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Margaret McCauley.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 27, at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required. If you feel uncomfortable attending, we ask that the next time you gather, you lift a glass and share fond memories of Larry.
