Joseph A. Patat, Jr., 72, of Athens died on December 28, 2020. The son of the late Joseph A. Patat, Sr. and the late Ruth A. Self. Joseph lived his adult life in Athens. Joseph was also preceded in death by his sisters Ann Thurmond, Paula Patat, and Peggy Price; and Brothers Larry Self and Coil Patat. Joseph is survived by his brothers Dwight Eberhardt and James Eddy Patat; and Sisters Nadine (Mike) Warlick of Kathleen, Mary (Dennis) Normand of Byron, and Cathy (Kenny) Rainbow of Warner Robins.

Joseph was a long-time resident of Athens and worked for the Water Business Division of the Athens-Clarke County Public Utilities as a water-meter reader for 30 years until November 2000. He was loved by many who he touched through his “Teddy-bear Ministries” and numerous puppet shows with his hand-made puppets. He will be greatly missed.

Lord and Stephens Funeral Home is handling the cremation.
