John Henry Becker, III

John (Jack) Henry Becker, III, 75, beloved husband of 53 years to Mary Ann Becker, died on Friday, April 14, 2023.  Born in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late John Henry Becker, Jr. and Bertha Mae Lukemeier Becker and was preceded in death by his son-in-law David Boyd.  He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Louisville’s Speed Scientific School and his MBA from the University of Louisville.  Jack served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era.  Jack retired as Executive Vice President, Quality from Acuity Brands Lighting, Conyers, GA.  He was a longtime member of Conyers Presbyterian Church and following his move from Conyers he was a member of Lutheran Church by the Lake, McCormick, SC.  Survivors in addition to his wife Mary Ann include two daughters: Amy Becker (Jeff) Morgan and Lisa Boyd (Alan) Thomas; siblings: Earl Becker, Robin Jones, and Rick Becker; and grandchildren: Elissa, Wesley, Izzy, Gwyn, Josie, Cap, Alex, and Mara.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 10th at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Dr. James L. Morgan, Jr. officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thornwell Children’s Home, 302 South Broad Street, Clinton, SC, 29325; The Family Hospice, 624 S.
