Geraldine L. Mathis, 95 of Athens, passed away on March 16, 2023. She was the daughter of the late, Hugh F. & Lelia C. Lyle; also preceded by a husband, John I. Mathis; sister, Mary H. Lyle; and a brother, Herman O. Lyle; grandchildren, Calvin and Tristian Scott. Mrs. Mathis was retired from General Times.
The funeral service is Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, West Chapel. The family will visit prior to the service from 12:00 pm to service time. The interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The pallbearers are: James Noell, Trey Noell, Blake Noell, Marshall Graham, Cale Mathis, Percy Bueno and Jackson Camp.
Survivors are Sons, Terrill (Rebecca) Mathis and Dwayne (Judy) Mathis; sister, Shirley Higgins; grandchildren, Tonya (James) Noell, Terri (Marshall) Graham, Tabatha (Ricky) Barrow, Cale (Sandy) Mathis; great-grandchildren, Trey (Ashley) Noell, Emily Noell, Blake (Joyce) Noell, Bailey Noell, Kathleen Barrow, Brantley Barrow, Parker Barrow, William Scott, Thomas Scott, Owen Scott, Noah Scott, and Odeilla Scott; and great great grandchildren, Jackson Noell, Presley Noell, Hampton Noell, and Tatum Noell.
