Faye Beth Hinesley Conine, 80, of Watkinsville, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, after a short illness.
Faye was born to Lorenah Shelnutt and Falvy Wilson Hinesley in Bishop, GA on October 29, 1941.
Faye graduated with honors from Oconee County High School and awarded an academic scholarship to UGA. She attended University of Georgia obtaining a degree in English. While attending school, she worked at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. After graduation, she was one of the first employees at Oconee State Bank, Watkinsville. She left the bank employment to pursue a career at UGA in Payroll where she stayed until her retirement.
Faye met and married her husband, David Conine on May 17, 1981 while each were working at UGA. They celebrated together their 40th anniversary in 2021.
She is predeceased by her 3 brothers, Dennis, Eugene and Hulon and sister, Elner Durden. She had 10 nieces and nephews. Faye is survived by her husband, David; sister, Judy Allison; and sister-in-laws, Genese Conine and Florence Moreland.
Faye had no children of her own but played an integral part in the lives of her nieces and nephews and their children.
Faye was a lifetime member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Watkinsville, GA. She played a big part in her church with responsibilities as Choir Director for many years and teacher for Sunday school classes.
Faye Beth will be remembered with a Service of Life Celebration on Saturday, February 5 at 1:00 PM at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 4 North Main Street, Watkinsville. The family will receive family and friends from 12:00 to 1:00 prior to the service.
