Dorothy Jane (Kethley) Shaw Allen

Dorothy Jane Kethley Shaw Allen was born on November 28, 1944 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She died on January 7th, 2021 at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her parents: Professor Thomas William Kethley and Jane Moore Kethley, and her brothers: Thomas (Bill) William Kethley, and Dr. John Bryan Kethley.

She is survived by her children: Randolph (Randy) Preston Shaw, his wife, Christina Rubel Shaw, and their two daughters: Mia Jordan Shaw and Lily Jane Shaw. She is also survived by her daughter, Julia Shaw Misenhimer, her husband Michael Monroe Misenhimer, and their four children: Amanda Jane Misenhimer, Levi Monroe Misenhimer and wife Hannah Misenhimer, Seth Thomas, and Sadie Ruth Powell and husband David Brendan Powell. Additionally, she is survived by her great grandchildren: Caroline Hazel Misenhimer, Gwendolyn Veda Fryer-Misenhimer, Ramona Dorothy Powell, Harley Larking Misenhimer, Maggie June Misenhimer, Derek Robert Powell, Lily Annabelle Powell, and Phoebe Elaine Misenhimer.

Dorothy graduated from Decatur High School and later received her Associate Degree from Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland.

She retired from the University of Georgia as an Associate Assistant from the Parking Services Department.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 11AM at Athens Memory Garden, 5195 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605.
