The Harward family announces the January 9th death of David Ray Harward of Athens, Georgia. David was born to Calvin and Lottie Harward in Sanford, North Carolina. After high school, David worked in various positions where he honed skills in metalworking and machinery. During this time he married and moved to Georgia where he started a family while working at the University of Georgia Instrument Shop for 38 years.
David Harward is predeceased by his father, Calvin, and a nephew, Travis.
David Harward leaves his wife of 50 years, Kathy; his daughter Beth Spinella and her husband Dominic; his daughter Becky Kitchens and her husband Jeff; grandchildren Jacob and Ashleigh Kitchens and Jonathan and Tommy Spinella; his mother Lottie Harward; brothers Tommy Harward, Lynn Harward, and John Harward; sisters Linda Graham and Deneen Crowson; a sister-in-law Deborah Ringley; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts & uncles.
A celebration of life will occur at a date to be determined soon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks well-wishers to make donations to Camp Rainey Mountain, a Boy Scout campground in North Georgia where many memories were made by David and his family over many of the last forty years.
