Cynthia Marie “Cindy” Morris

7/8/56-7/8/20

Cindy Morris passed away on July 8th after a courageous nine-and-a-half-year battle with cancer on her 64th birthday. Now, 64 years isn’t as long as it seems and it’s definitely not long enough to enjoy knowing, loving and being loved by someone like Cindy.  She is survived by her husband Jeffrey “Jeff” Morris, her father Harvey Price and his wife Darlene, her brother Jim Price and his wife Jo, her sons Travis Kitchens and Michael Kitchens, daughters Samantha Morris and Melissa Morris, Travis’ wife, Kelly and Samantha’s husband Chris. Her greatest joy was being grandmother or ‘Nini’ to Tyler, Maddie, Delia, Colton, Mac, Olivia, Calliope, Baylor, Christopher and Courtney and great grandmother to Willow and Lane. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Edna.

If you were blessed to know Cindy, you knew her to be a hard worker. She worked at Kroger for over 40 years no one could put more effort into their work than she. In those 40 years, she blessed and influenced countless coworkers and customers with her willingness to help, her compassion and her knowledge of her job. Cindy saved her best work, though, for her family. She loved her people with everything she had, especially her grandkids, whom she hugged on, played with, cooked with, taught and encouraged. “Nini” left an eternal mark on their lives.

Cindy loved the beach, especially Hilton Head. She loved England, where Jeff is from. She loved gardening, helping people out and just life itself, especially in the aftermath of her diagnosis. This wonderful, strong wife loved her husband beyond what words can say and together they fought that horrific disease side by side every step of the way. Their relationship will stand as a testimony to everyone.  She loved her kids who constantly supported her and she in turn poured into their lives a legacy of faith and faithfulness that will last forever.

**A Celebration of Life service is planned for Saturday, July 25th @ 11:00am at the Athens Christian Church, 1200 Forest Heights Drive.  If anyone would like to remember her in a monetary way, please donate to the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter in Danielsville, GA.
