Bruce Wayne Perry

Bruce Wayne Perry, Sr, 77, of Athens, Georgia went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2021, surrounded by his family as he passed away. Born on April 28, 1944, he was the youngest of 12 children of the late Walter E. and Addie Strickland Perry.

Bruce was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Sandra, 4 children, Sheila Lee (Christopher), Wayne (Lois), Wendell (Brenda), and Corey (Amy), 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, 1 great grandson due in December, sisters Marion “Flossy” Sanders, Barbara “Bob” Hammond, and one brother, Everett.

Bruce was a faithful member of Whitehall Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Trustee.

Papa Bruce was a man of few words, but was always smiling. He was known for saying the “Graaaaaaace” at family dinners and making those he met laugh. He also loved to fish and hunt with his boys.

Papa Bruce wished for his family and friends to celebrate his life. Services will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Whitehall Baptist Church, 392 Whitehall Rd, Athens, Ga 30605. Pastor Jimmy Edwards will be officiating the service.
