Obituary

Benny Leonard McDaniel, 67, of Colbert passed away on June 13, 2022.

Born on July 18, 1954, he was the son of the late Loyd McDaniel and Edna Belle Shelton McDaniel. Benny was a lifelong farmer who loved the mountains, going fishing and was a member of Living Waters Holiness Church in Colbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, David McDaniel, Delores Epps, Lottie McDaniel.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Janet Lynn McDaniel; six children, David McDaniel, Loyd “Bo” McDaniel, Randy McDaniel, Kimberly McDaniel, Melissa Nash, Christy Gunter; sixteen grandchildren, David McDaniel, Jr., Randy McDaniel, Jr., Christopher McDaniel, Stephen McDaniel, Austin McDaniel, Abigail McDaniel, Quintin Nash, Jr., Loyd McDaniel, Jr., Luke McDaniel, Robert Gunter III, Annabella Gunter, Brayden Gunter, Keith Hodapp III, Jeremy Hodapp, Joshua Hodapp, Jackson McDaniel; three brothers, Loyd McDaniel, Ralph McDaniel, Junior Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Living Waters Holiness Church in Colbert, GA. Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David L. McDaniel, Quintin Nash, Keith Hodapp, Jeremy Hodapp, Christopher McDaniel and Austin McDaniel. The family will receive friends at the McDaniel residence (20 Suddeth Road, Colbert, GA 30628) beginning at 4:00 pm Wednesday through Friday at 10:00 am.
