Anne Strozier Threadgill

Anne Strozier Threadgill died peacefully at Mulberry Grove Senior Living in Statham, Ga. on January 7, 2022. She was born on June 16, 1928 in Atlanta, Ga but lived most of her life in Greenville Georgia. Her parents were Miriam DuPree Strozier and William Terry Strozier, Jr. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her husband, Herman Threadgill, her son, Allen Threadgill, and her brother, Terry Strozier III.

Anne graduated from Greenville High School and Wesleyan College. She taught 20 of her 28 years at Greenville High School. Other years were spent in Jonesboro, Luthersville, Manchester, and Ocala Florida. Her entire life was spent as a member of Greenville Methodist Church where she held numerous committee positions, sponsored youth groups, and involved in the formation of the Bargain House. She was a member of the Meriwether Co. Retired Teachers, as well as the Georgia Retired Teachers and the Delta Kapp Gamma Society for Outstanding Teachers. For eight years, she was on the board of the Piedmont Library and on the Meriwether Co. Heart Board for several years. As a co-editor, Anne helped publish The Heritage of Meriwether Co. Ga.

Survivors are her daughters Miriam (Gene) Smith of Greenville, Ga.; Mary Lee (Greg) Clements of Watkinsville, Ga; her sister Lee (Laney) Ellis, Saluda, NC. Also included are her grandchildren: Rob (Tracy) Strickland, Winston-Salem, NC; Stacy (Dean) Johnson, Myrtle Beach, SC; Geoffrey Threadgill, Berlin, Md;

Will Clements and Thomas Clements, Watkinsville, Ga. Her Great-grand children are Seth and Sloan Strickland and Robin Johnson. There are also numerous nieces and nephews.
