Yvonia Bates Threlkeld

Yvonia Bates Threlkeld, 88 of Comer, GA passed away August 30, 2025. She was the daughter of the late T.C. & Irene Bates of Comer, GA. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by a brother Harold Bates. She was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church and the Adult Sunday School teacher for many years. She was the owner of Threlkeld Business Services. Yvonia loved to cook for her family and will forever be remembered for her Rum Cakes and Pecan Pies. She loved her cats; her favorite breed was a rescue.

Funeral Service is Friday September 5th, 2025, starting at 1pm in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Kellum officiating. The family will have a visitation at the funeral home from 11am - 1pm prior to the service. The interment will follow at New Hope Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Comer, GA.

Yvonia is survived by her husband of 68 years Howard T. Threlkeld, Sr.; son: Chip and Angie Threlkeld; grandchildren: Jenna & Barret Johnson and Trey and Brooke Threlkeld; four great grandchildren he loved very much: Hunter, Colton, Westlyn and Raegan; and sister: Faye Bray.
