Woodrow Shane Childs

Woodrow Shane Childs, 53, died on December 18, 2023. Born in Elberton, Georgia, on October 11, 1970, he was the son of the late Thomas Woodrow Childs, Jr. and Brenda Risner Childs.

Shane loved spending time with his family and was an extremely proud father to three children.  He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, caring for his home-grown tomatoes, watching NASCAR, trips to the beach and while cooking he loved to sing and dance. His favorite time of the year was Christmas.

Shane is survived by his children: Julia (Alejandro Otero) Khachatourian, Cory Khachatourian, and Samantha Khachatourian; sister: Tamala Guest; brother: Ron Childs; aunt and uncle: Nancy and Edward Raines; longtime companion Christine Khachatourian and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Shane’s life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1PM at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home East Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12PM until 1PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, Donate St. Jude , Toys For Tots, Donate Toys For Tots , or Athens Area Humane Society Donate Athens Area Humane Society.
