Colbert - Willie Edd Cooper, 81, died July 10, 2005.
A native and lifelong resident of Madison County, he was a son of the late Bessie Thurmond and James O. Cooper, and the widower of Margaret Hawkes Cooper. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Cooper of Lincoln, NE, John Cooper of Concord, NC, and two sisters, Virginia Mann of Hull and Della Mae Sorrow of Danielsville. Mr. Cooper was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Rev. Ray Jenkins will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Benedict of Athens; two sons, David Cooper of Marietta and Bobby Cooper of Dunwoody; two brothers, Jerry Cooper of Hull and Jimmy Cooper of Danielsville; three grandchildren, Wendy McElhannon of Lexington, Lauren Cooper and William Cooper, both of Marietta; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
