William Spencer Winkle

William “Bill” Spencer Winkle went home to be with our Lord on January 16, 2021.  Bill was a resident of Maxeys, Georgia.  He was a retired mechanical and electrical engineer and business owner.  He was the former Mayor of Maxeys. Bill was a member of Maxeys Christian Church where he served on the Board of Deacons.  He was a member of the Oglethorpe Chapter of the Gideons International, and was involved in many community activities.

Bill is survived by his wife, Rachel Tolle Silvey Winkle; three daughters: Wendy Thomas (Jeff), Tracy Vivo (Jamie), Karey Karr (Eric); two step-daughters: Dondra Jones (Drew), Aubrey Nation (Troy); and one step-son Ronnie Silvey (Tina).  He is survived by 9 grandchildren: Cory Thomas (Teala), Kyle Thomas, Ethan Thomas, Andrew Thomas, Christopher Vivo, Hannah Vivo, Natalie Karr, Lydia Karr and Audrey Karr; and by 11 step-grandchildren: Courtland Nation, Logan Nation (Maria), Caden Nation, Delaney Ellison, Maddie Jones, Sidney Jones, Blake Jones, LeeAnn Silvey, Trey Silvey, Ina Silvey and Jasper Silvey.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Maxeys Christian Church at 1:00 p.m.
