Wanda Echols, 80, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Wanda was preceded in death by her late husband, Ernest Echols, her parents Leon and Mellie Myers McDougal, her daughter, Tina Turpin, her stepson, Herbie Echols, her grandchildren, Megan Epps and Brandon Turpin, her nephew, Shane Fleming and her four-legged companions, Gizzie and Izzie. She is survived by her son, Jeff Stockton, her step daughter, Lisa Carriles, her step daughter in law, Kathy Echols, her granddaughter, Krista "Nicole" Saxon (Trent), her sister, Marcelle Fleming (Joey), her great grandchildren, Tucker Saxon, Briley Epps, Conner Epps, Tanner Epps, Allison Turpin, step grandchildren, Bobby Houck, Tommy Echols, Larry Houck, Jr. Sean Echols, Sarah Echols and several step great grandchildren. , , her daughter-in-law, Angie Stockton, her son-in-law, Michael Turpin, her nephew, Slade Fleming (Lauren), and her great niece and nephew, Haley and Caden Fleming.
Wanda and Ernest were the owners of Echols Painting for many years. Wanda enjoyed redoing furniture, cooking and baking, playing bingo, and rolling silverware at her assisted living facility. Some of her favorite things consisted of cokes, blizzards, pizza puffs/melts, and Bar H BBQ. Wanda was the happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends.
Wanda was a godly woman and it always made her so happy to help and take care of others. She was so loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Graveside visitation will be from 2:30-3:00 PM, with a graveside service starting at 3:00 PM at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 2700 Colham Ferry Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
