Wade Neal Thomas, 41, passed away January 23, 2011.
Wade N. Thomas was a lifelong resident of High Shoals, a graduate of Oconee County High School and the University of Georgia. He was a Georgia Bulldog supporter all of his life. Wade was a farmer - working on the family farm with his father - raising chickens and tending cattle. Wade was well-known and active participant within the community serving many years representing the people of North High Shoals as a member of the city council. Wade was a dedicated Christian and a lifelong member of High Shoals Christian Church. Wade was a deacon of the church and the Superintendent of Sunday School. With a loving heart and a giving spirit, Wade served the Lord with all of his being.
Wade's immediate family includes his mother and dad, Don and Mary Neal Thomas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth Thomas (Bill) Sosebee and Robin Thomas (Jimmy) Pannell; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Starr Thomas; one niece, Mary Ryann Ivie and husband, B. J. Ivie; nephews, Jake Sosebee and wife, Jenny Sosebee, Justin Pannell, Jason Pannell, Jeffery Thomas, Jackson Thomas and Ben Ivie.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at 2:00 PM at High Shoals Christian Church, 110 Jefferson Road, High Shoals, GA. Interment will follow at the Thomas Family Cemetery on Cole Springs Road.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to High Shoals Christian Church, P. O. Box 70, High Shoals, GA 30645.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
