It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of W T Fields. W T went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2024.
W T was born in Oglethorpe County on March 14, 1938 and was a lifelong resident.
He was a retired truck driver who enjoyed time with family and friends. He was a member of the James T. Rayle American Legion Post 123.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Susie McElhannon Fields; his sister Kathleen; and his son, W T Fields, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Brendia Dianne Amos Fields; his son, Michael Eugene Fields; daughter Karen Lynn (Dale) Scoggins; five grandchildren: Laci Coates, Brittany Wiesen, Justin Fields, Samantha Fields and Katie Carrouth; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings: Nellie, Charles, Vernon, and Monteen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4 at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East Chapel at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Billy Williams officiating. The family will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and for one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Justin Fields, Danny Gabriel, Dennis Helmreich, Thomas Pelewski, Dale Scoggins, and Ricky Todd.
