Vince Pearson

Bogart, GA - Jesse Vinson Pearson, 69, died September 5, 2014.
Born in Athens, he was a son of the late Harvey N. and Bertie Mae Goodrum Pearson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Annie Ruth Pearson and brother, LeRoy Pearson. Mr. Pearson was a longtime resident of both Athens and Oconee County.
Mr. Pearson was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Hornet. He retired from Athens Clarke County Fire Department after twenty-nine years and also worked for UPS for several years.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park.
Members of Athens-Clarke County Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include three children, Randy (Melissa) Pearson of Bishop, Jessica L. (Mike Nazworth) Pearson of Watkinsville and Scott Pearson of Watkinsville; five grandchildren, Carden, Max, Cole, Olivia and Parker; 6 sisters, Kathryn Swindel, Lorene Sorrow, Willette Jackson, Blenda Smith, Vonnie Parnell and Rebecca Bradberry; 3 brothers, Eugene Pearson, Frank Pearson and Harold Pearson; companion, Paulette Naylor.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
