Terry Thomas Shaw, 70, of Watkinsville, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, at her home with her beloved husband by her side. Born on November 18, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Thomas and Henrietta Jean Newport Kanter.
Terry was a kind, loving, and thoughtful woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She had a warm spirit and a generous heart, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own. Terry had a special talent for decorating and truly had an eye for every detail. Whether preparing her home for holidays, welcoming guests, or simply creating a beautiful space for her family, she took great pride in making things feel warm, inviting, and special.
Throughout her childhood, Terry’s family moved many times, but no matter where life took her, she had a remarkable ability to form genuine and lasting friendships. She was known for being a true and authentic friend—loyal, kindhearted, and someone people could always count on. Those friendships remained important to her throughout her life.
She loved watching sports with her husband and was a devoted supporter at her daughter’s sporting events. Terry especially cherished the memories of her daughter’s basketball career and was always eager to share stories and proud moments from those years with anyone who would listen.
Terry was a proud and loving grandmother to Joseph, who brought her immense happiness. She treasured every moment spent with her family and will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.
She had a special place in her heart for her beloved dogs, Finn, Callie and Klay, who were truly her pride and joy. They were constant companions who brought her comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Kingree and stepmother, Harriett Holden Thomas.
She is survived by her loving husband, Earl Shaw; her daughter, Robin Alexandra Wilson (Hannah); stepdaughter, Lori Amber Roessner; and grandson, Joseph Glenn Roessner.
She is also survived by her siblings: Barbara Wear Hawkins (Joe, deceased); Lane Wear (Jana) of Moultrie; Lori Thomas Murphy (Roger) of Gainesville; Susan Wear Kessinger (Joe, deceased) of Young Harris; Liz Thomas Johnson of Burlington, NC; Lyndon Wear; and Susan Thomas Warren (Marty) of Elon College, NC.
