Athens, GA - Susie L. Towns, 86, died October 17, 2008.
Born in Whitehall and a lifelong resident of Clarke County, she was the daughter of the late James Harvey Towns and Clara Elizabeth Williams Towns. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Towns Redmond and brother, James Harvey Towns, Jr.
Graveside services will be Monday, October 20, 2008 at 3:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Charles A. Redmond, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Jon Redmond officiating.
Survivors include her brother, Parks Towns of Athens; nieces and nephews, Charles A. Redmond, Jr., Carole Redmond Smith, Jimmie Towns Boyett and James Harvey Towns, III; 4 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice, 1500 Oglethorpe Avenue, Athens, GA 30606.
Lord and Stephens, EAST is in charge of arrangements.
