Stewart Manning

Walter Stewart Manning, 81, of Statham, GA, died January 3, 2024.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Walter Roy and Helen Stewart Manning.

Prior to making his home in Statham, he was a resident of Highlands, NC and previous to that, a resident of Athens, Georgia where he was the longtime owner of Manning Brothers Food Equipment Company.  He is a member of Ashford Memorial United Methodist Church in Watkinsville, Ga. Mr. Manning was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Brenda Holcomb Manning; son, Douglas “Doug” Stewart Manning and his wife Erica of Marietta; daughters, Jill Floyd Sullivan and her husband Tim of Cumming and Ginger Floyd of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Megan Sullivan, Kennedy Sullivan, Ava Grace Manning, Emily Manning, Ryan Manning and Max Locke-Floyd.

A celebration of life will be Sunday, January 7 at 3:00pm at Ashford Memorial Methodist Church, 1 N. Main Street, Watkinsville, GA. Rev. Robert Greene will officiate.  The family will receive friends at 2:00pm prior to the service in the sanctuary.

Memorials may be made to Ashford Memorial Methodist Church Music Ministry.
