Steven "Layne" Adkins

Steven Layne Adkins, 70, of Hull, died on Monday, December 5, 2022.

A lifelong resident of the Athens area, Layne was the son of Matt Oneal Adkins and Evelyn Cook Adkins. He was an avid Georgia Bulldawgs and Elvis fan.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Franklin Oneal Adkins, Johnny Matt Adkins, and his twin, Anthony Wayne Adkins.

Layne is survived by his wife, Nancy Coker Adkins; children: Corey Coker (Samantha), Stephanie Betts, Cassidy Adkins, and Gage Adkins; and grandchildren: Emerson Coker, Noa Coker, and Abbygail Betts; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 9 at Evergreen Memorial Park at 2pm with Rev. Morris Sapp officiating.
