Steve Tillery

Steven Andrew Tillery, 56, of Bogart, Georgia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

Born on August 14, 1969, in Marietta, Georgia, Steve was the son of Gregg and Martha Tillery. He was the beloved husband and best friend of Celane Sims Tillery. For 31 years they built a beautiful life together, one marked by deep love, unwavering commitment, and a faith that carried them through every season. Through life’s celebrations and its greatest heartbreaks, Steve and Celane chose each other every single day. Their marriage was his greatest earthly blessing.

Steve was endlessly proud of the family they built together. He was a devoted father to Peyton and Hunter, celebrating every milestone, every accomplishment, and every season of their lives. He welcomed Emilie and Abbey into the family with open arms, loving them not simply as daughters-in-law but as daughters. Watching his sons become loving husbands and fathers was one of his greatest joys. Becoming “Pawpaw” brought an entirely new happiness to his life. His grandchildren filled his heart in ways only they could, and there was nothing he loved more than having his family together.

Steve dedicated 25 years of his career to Roll Off Systems, where he earned the respect of coworkers through his dependability, humility, and strong work ethic. He believed in doing things the right way, keeping his word, and providing well for those he loved.

Outside of work, Steve found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was a devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan and faithfully tuned in to 960 The Ref, proudly considering himself part of the Loyal Listener Club. He loved cheering on the Atlanta Braves, spending time on the golf course, and sharing those moments with family and friends. Whether listening to 960 the REF, watching a ballgame, or enjoying a round of golf, Steve appreciated the simple blessings that made life so meaningful.

Steve was a faithful member of Grace Fellowship Church, where his relationship with Jesus Christ shaped the man he was. His faith wasn’t something he simply professed, it was something he quietly lived. His kindness, gentleness, humility, and steadfast spirit reflected the hope he found in Christ.

For nearly two years, Steve faced metastatic tongue cancer with remarkable courage. Though the journey brought surgeries, treatments, rehabilitation, and unimaginable challenges, it also revealed the depth of his faith, the strength of his family, and the incredible love of a community that faithfully prayed beside them. Through every difficult day, Steve was never alone. While cancer claimed his earthly body, it never touched the hope he had in Christ or the love he had for those closest to him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Celane Sims Tillery; his parents, Gregg and Martha Tillery; his sons, Peyton Tillery and wife Emilie, and Hunter Tillery and wife Abbey; his treasured grandchildren, Asher Tillery and Steven Tillery; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Those who knew Steve will remember a man who loved quietly but completely, who found joy in the people around his table, and whose greatest accomplishments could never be listed on a résumé. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so fiercely, the faith he lived so faithfully, and the example he set of what it means to love God and love others well.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Grace Fellowship Church in Bogart, Georgia, with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Grace Fellowship Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
