Sidney W. Christopher

Sidney Wesley Christopher, 81, died December 31, 2020.

A native and longtime resident of Oconee County, he was a son of the late Lillian Thomas Christopher and John Clarke Christopher. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

Mr. Christopher was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Champion International/Diary Pak Division after forty years.  He was a member, Deacon and Sunday School teacher at East Athens Baptist Church and a member of the Athens Civitan Club. Mr. Christopher was a true gentleman who loved his Church and spending time with his family.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 2:00 PM at East Athens Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Christine R. Christopher; two children, Brent (Valerie) Christopher and Cynthia C. (Bryon) Frye, all of Watkinsville; two grandchildren, Wesley Thomas Fambrough and Tina Ladell (Tony) Phonekeo; one great grandchild, Silas Phonekeo.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
