Sharon Dawson Campbell, a beloved figure in her community, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 64 after an eight-month battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Madison County, Sharon was born on January 27, 1961, in Athens, Georgia. She left this world surrounded by her loving family, each of whom had the opportunity to convey their deep love and gratitude to her in her final moments.
Sharon's spirit was one of devotion, embodying the roles of wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter with great care and love. She was the cherished wife of William Campbell for 46 years, creating a partnership that many admired. Together, they nurtured their only child, Joni Parham (Gary), and reveled in life’s joys through their five grandchildren: Brianna Dorsey (Blain), Kaleb Lee (Haylee), Aidan Lee, Dawson Lee, and Fia Parham, as well as their three step-grandchildren, Isaac, Will, and Gabe Parham.
Sharon's warmth and kindness extended to her parents, leaving behind her father, Grier Dawson. Her family bond was further enriched by her brother, Wade Dawson, who will remember her with affection. Sharon was preceded in death by her mother and best friend, Shirley Bond, and her older brother, Carey Dawson, both of whom she held dear in her heart.
An accomplished individual in her youth, Sharon was known as the cheerleading captain and an honor student during her time in school. Her nurturing nature went beyond her family; she had an avid love for animals, often bringing home litters of abandoned kittens and puppies in need of care. Additionally, her passion for automobiles was evident in her two Camaros, which she maintained with immaculate care—a reflection of her spirited and meticulous nature.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sharon's life and legacy at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes Danielsville, located at 963 Highway 98 E, Danielsville, Georgia 30633. The visitation will be held on January 4, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Her burial will take place at Galilee Church cemetery.
In honoring Sharon's memory, her family kindly requests that attendees dress in casual clothing, reflecting the warmth and comfort she brought into their lives.
