Sandra Ellen Assaf

Sandra Ellen Assaf, 78, of Athens, GA passed away on November 16, 2025. She was the daughter of the late E. Marie Jackson and Vernon Jackson Sr.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Francis Assaf; son and daughter and law, Alain Assaf and Mona Durban; and two grandchildren, Alexander and Aaron Durban-Assaf.

My beloved Sandra was a loving wife, a dedicated mother to our son, Alain, and a doting grandmother to our grandsons, Alexander and Aaron. Alain loved his mother with all his heart. She was very kind and loving to our daughter-in-law, Mona. She was also a loving and dutiful daughter, always attentive and caring. She was generous to her family, especially to her grandsons, who were always sure that she loved them deeply. Her smile always brightened the room. Her departure leaves a void in our lives that will remain forever.

An informal graveside service will be held at Athens Memory Gardens on Friday, November 28, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM. Following the service, the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the cemetery.
