Samuel Joseph Scarborough Jr.

Samuel Joseph Scarborough Jr., 75, of Statham, passed away on April 1, 2026.

Born on March 5, 1951, in Clarke County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Samuel Joseph Scarborough Sr. and Betty Epps Weise. Sam was dedicated to his career, and even after retirement, he continued working by delivering parts for AutoZone. In his free time, he found joy in watching all kinds of sports, with a special love for UGA. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake and going camping. Above all else, however, nothing meant more to him than the time he spent with his beloved family.

Survivors include his daughters Maureen Maxwell, Sherrye Reeves (Larry); sisters Debi Combs (Bart) and Janice Cassidy; along with four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and five nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Michael Windham.

Graveside services for Sam will be held Sunday, April 12, 2026, 3:30 pm at Colbert City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the chapel of Lord and Stephens Danielsville, (963 GA-98, Danielsville, GA 30633) with Rev. Randy Crowe officiating.
