Sam Christopher Colley

Sam Christopher Colley, 45, died October 19, 2021.

A lifelong Athenian, Sam was born in Athens, GA on July 20, 1976 to Lila (Cox) and Jerry Colley, who preceded him from this realm.

Survivors include his children, Lila, Herschel, Samuel, and Christopher Colley; sister, Lilith Nicole Colley-LaVey of Athens and her husband, Brandon; sister, Sheila Colley Thompson of Athens; nieces, Destiny Lila Colley, Jeri Lynn Granfield (Thompson), and Amanda Thompson; nephew, Damien Alexander Butler; two great nephews, Gabriel, and Jericho Harris; and countless friends who are considered his family.

A truly congenial and huge-hearted person, Sam loved everyone, and everyone loved Sam. He was well known in Athens and will be missed by all.

Graveside services will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 12:00pm at Crooked Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30am until 11:30am at the funeral home.
