Russell Douglas Smith

Russell Douglas Smith, 75, of Watkinsville, GA died on October 27, 2026.

Born in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late William Horace Smith and Iris Stone Smith and brother to the late Robert Wayne Smith. Before his retirement, Russell was in sales for Waste Pro Waste Management. He was a member of Watkinsville First United Methodist Church and was an avid Georgia Bulldawg fan. He enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts and loved to travel.

Survivors include his partner of 36 years, Marilyn Montgomery; two children: Eric Smith and Elizabeth Smith; sister: Beverly Smith and nieces Kim Fleming, Beverly Brock and Laura Taylor.

A celebration of Russell’s life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at 2PM at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church with a reception following.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Oconee Lions Club or Watkinsville First United Methodist Church.
