Lawrence Ross Perry, Jr., 81, and Deborah Frances Perry, 74, both of Athens, GA, will have a celebration of life service on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. Ross passed away on February 28, 2024, leaving behind his wife of 38 years, Deborah, who died on June 24, 2024. Ross was born in Ellensburg, Washington and was the son of the late Lawrence Ross Perry, Sr. and Evelyn Stinman Perry. He retired from Athens Clarke County Government in Code Enforcement and retired from the US Army reaching the rank of Major. Deborah was born in Watertown, New York and was the daughter of the late Sterling Schrodt and Frances Wills Schrodt. She retired from USDA as an Executive Assistant. They were both members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Survivors include three children: Wade Matteson, Jason Matteson and John Perry and three grandchildren; Tyler Matteson, Piper Matteson and Grayson Jones. Deborah is survived by three siblings: Mitzi Bush, Mark Schrodt and Trudy Schrodt. Ross and Deborah also leave behind many nieces and nephews, as well as their beloved church family and friends.
