Listen to Obituary

Rosemary Hogan Taylor passed died peacefully in her sleep on September 28, 2026.

Rosemary was a long-term resident of Oglethorpe County, growing up on the family farm. Her childhood was spent riding her beloved spotted pony, June Love, across the pastures and in the forests, with her German Shepherd, King. In her teenage years she showed Tennessee Walking Horses with her grandfather, Boyce Hogan, across the Southeast.

Rosemary graduated from Oglethorpe Co. High School, c/o 1965 and then attended Gulf Park College for Women in Gulfport, Mississippi. Before graduation from Gulf Park College, Rosemary was a devoted member of the Equestrian Department. She applied that same devotion throughout her life, whether in the show ring, at work, or as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Some of her happiest moments were watching her daughter, Kristian, become an accomplished equestrian and watching her beloved grandson, Taylor, grow into a young man.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Kristian Taylor White, grandson, Taylor Walker White, nephews Charles (Carol) and Sim (Vickie) Hogan.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Thomas Taylor, grandparents Boyce and Maude Hogan, parents Sim Ed and Johnnie Hogan, and brother, Capt. Charles Hogan, U.S. Army.
