Ronald Ray Rader, born July 4, 1931, in Brunswick, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, in Athens, Georgia, just four days before reaching his 95th birthday. Ronald's long and well-lived life was a testament to his enduring values and steadfast commitment to those he loved.
A devoted husband, Ronald is survived by his beloved wife, Zhanna Rader, whose partnership was a source of mutual strength and joy throughout their years together. He leaves behind his son, Valentin Rader, who carries forward Ronald’s spirit and legacy. His memory will also be cherished by his sister, Marlene Neumann, and his brother, Richard Rader, both of whom shared a lifetime of memories with Ronald. Among those mourning his passing are his grandchildren, Daniel, Joel, and Narissa Rader, who each brought him great pride and happiness.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Rader, and his mother, Nettie Mae Rader, whose love and guidance shaped the man he would become. He was also predeceased by his son, Edward Rader, and his brother, Bobby Rader, whose memories remain close to the hearts of all who knew Ronald.
Throughout his life, Ronald touched the lives of many with his kind nature, steadfast loyalty, and unassuming wisdom. He built lasting bonds within his family, providing both guidance and comfort to those around him. His reverence for tradition, coupled with a quiet strength, formed the foundation of his relationships and daily endeavors. Friends and family alike remember Ronald as a man of integrity, resilience, and deep compassion.
To honor his life, a visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes Athens, located at 4355 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at the same location beginning at 3:00 p.m. Ronald’s inurnment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA 30606.
Ronald Ray Rader’s legacy lives on in the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were privileged to know him.
