Bishop - Dr. Ronald Thomas Cantrell, 58, died August 20, 2005.
Dr. Cantrell was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia; received a BS in business Administration from Brenau University, a Masters and Doctoral degree from the College of Education, University of Georgia. His professional career included management positions in areas of informational technology, materials management, marketing and training. He was self employed developing interactive multi-media training at the time of his illness.
Dr. Cantrell has been a life long Christian, children and adult Sunday School teacher, coordinator for Wednesday night dinners, St. Luke's Healing Society member and a now member of Holy Cross Anglican Church, Loganville, GA. His volunteer activities include Boy Scouts, American Red Cross blood donor and volunteer, and Georgia State Guard Training Officer.
Memorial services will be Monday, August 22, 2005, at 2:00 PM at St. James United Methodist Church, 111 West Lake Drive, Athens, GA 30606. The Rev. Dr. Foley Beach of Holy Cross Anglican Church, Loganville, GA will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
Survivors include his wife, Judith Patterson Cantell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and William Kraeling of Bishop and Hollyn and Stephen Back of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Ashley Kraeling, Timothy Kraeling, Robert Kraeling; uncle and two aunts, Horace and Thelma Cantrell of Gainesville, GA and Dora Rogers of Flowery Branch, GA; and a number of cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Anglican Church, Loganville, GA for the New Outdoor Prayer Chapel, or the Alzheimer's Association.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc., Watkinsville, is in charge of arrangements.
