Robert Jackson “Jack” Rogers, 86, husband of 63 years to Lenora H. Rogers, died on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Born in Bartow County, GA, he was the son of the late Jim T. Rogers and Bess Mae Richards Rogers and brother to the late Ben Rogers and Sam Rogers. Jack retired from the University of Georgia Plant Science Farm after working for more than 30 years. He was an active member of Bethabara Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and served in the Army Reserves. Jack enjoyed being outdoors deer and rabbit hunting and loved working in his garden.
Survivors in addition to his wife Lenora H. Rogers, include three children: Phillip (Cindy) Rogers, Tim (Donna) Rogers and Wanda (Gary) McLocklin; siblings: Tom Rogers, Harold Rogers, Roy Rogers, Paul Rogers, Kathy Nix, Judy Garrison, Martha Whitehead and David Rogers; seven grandchildren: Nicholas Rogers, Nicole Lanyon, Hannah Rogers, Caroline Rogers, Sarahbeth Todd, Chester McLocklin and Erica McLocklin and three great grandchildren with one on the way.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11AM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Rob Bray and his brother Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6PM until 8PM on Friday, July 12, 2024.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Bethabara Baptist Church, 4651 Monroe Highway, Statham, GA 30666.
