Reuben Sanford Moss

Reuben Sanford Moss, 93, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Born in Rutledge, he was a son of the late Julian Albert Moss and Myrtis Ruark Moss. Mr. Moss worked for more than 40 years at Wellington Puritan Mills and was a member of New Haven Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Hulan Moss, Roger Moss, JW Moss, Jerry Moss, Larry Moss, Judy Sullivan, Yvonne Chaney and Mary Dean Redmond. 

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Moss; children, Ricky Moss (Kathy), Ronald Moss and Angela Reed (Joel); sister, Diane Wilson; grandchildren, Kelly Moss, Kristen Moss, Reagan Moss, Randy Reed and Adam Reed; great-grandchildren, William Padgett, Lexie Reed, Levi Reed, Colton Reed, Kaden Reed and Carley Reed and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Moss, Bobby Chaney, Randy Reed, Adam Reed, Carey Lamey and Chris Arthur. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
