Raymond John Sakowski III

Bogart, GA - Raymond John Sakowski, III, 22, died June 16, 2011.
Born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, he was the son of Raymond John, Jr. and Marianne Popiel Sakowski and was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray, Sr. and Doris Sakowski and Dolly Ryan. He has lived in Oconee County since 1994 and was a graduate of Oconee County High School where he was a member of the German Club. Raymond received his Associate degree from Athens Tech, where he tutored many students. He was employed with UGA as a lab tech. Raymond was an avid reader, loved music, art and loved all animals. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his sister, brother in law and niece, Chrisandra and John Espy and Cyanne Espy of Thailand; grandfather, Robert Edward Popiel; uncles Stephens Popiel, Richard Sakowski, and Mark Sakowski, aunts, Rhonda Sakowski, Becky Sakowski, Kim Sakowski; fiancée, Tara Andrews, cousins, Richard Sakowski Jr., Katlin Sakowski, Jennifer Sakowski, and Samantha Sakowski.
A memorial mass will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens, WEST, Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
