Rayburn Lynn Shelnutt

Rayburn Lynn Shelnutt, of Carlton, Georgia, passed away at his residence on September 22, 2026, at the age of 47. He was born on November 13, 1978, in Commerce, Georgia.

Rayburn was known for his work in construction, where he was self-employed. Through that work, he spent his life using his hands, his skill, and his determination to build and provide.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Dale Shelnutt Sr.

Rayburn leaves behind a family who will carry his memory with them always. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lynn Shelnutt, and by his daughters, Khloe Lynn Shelnutt, Faith Annette Thompson, and Audria Nicole Shelnutt. He is also survived by his mother Nancy Lynn Shelnutt; brother Trampus (Susan) Shelnutt; his sister Bonnie (Rodney) Christian; his brother Roger “Junebug” Shelnutt Jr.; his brother Daniel (Rachel) Shelnutt; and his brother Slim (Holly) Shelnutt; and his grandchildren Kyro, Leona, and Abigail.

A service celebrating Rayburn's life will be at Crawford Baptist Church 124 Church Street, Crawford, GA 30630 Saturday with visitation from 11-12 and service to follow visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Rayburn's memory.
