Ralph Clinton Almond, Jr., 78, of Winterville, passed away on February 9, 2026. Born on August 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Ralph Clinton Almond, Sr. and Mae Caroline Ogletree.
Clint spent over 30 years working for law enforcement in various positions at numerous different counties, eventually retiring with Barrow County. He was a kind and charismatic man who had many friends throughout his years. He loved animals and was always nurturing towards them. His favorite pastimes include hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Susan Smith and Lisa Lavender; niece and nephews, Justin Etheredge, Jessica Thomason, Tanner Conrad.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Etheredge Almond; sister, Sherry Conrad; sister-in-law, Janie Harris (Charles); brother-in-law, John Etheredge (Helen Hosti); nieces and nephews, Krista Etheredge, Daniel Harris, Michael Thomason, Missy Brown, Tony Tedrick, Chelsea Moorleghan; Great niece and nephew, Evan Etheredge, Carrie Etheredge, Christopher Thomason, Jackson Thomason, Tanner Thomason, Cooper Thomason.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Lord & Stephens East. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Arnoldsville Cemetery.
