Raleigh Bond Carey, 79, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.
Raleigh, a native of Elbert County, was the son of the late Dewey Little and Ellene Martin Carey. He worked for Sunbeam Bread Company for 20 years and also worked with the 404 Union Pipeline Company until he retired. He was a huge sports fan loving the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and Nascar.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings, Gladys Carey, Sybil Schoyen, Ferrol Tyner, Gwendowlyn Carey, Martin Carey, Wallace Carey and Ross Carey.
He was a member of Joy Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Earlene Dobbs Carey; daughter, Leigh Anne Carey; Son, Michael Bond Carey (Mandy); grandchildren, Riley Bond Carey and Haley Briannon Carey.; brother, Larion Carey (Doris); Sisters, Marie Young and Linda Sexton (Bant).
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Lord & StephensMadison Chapel with Pastor Adam Reynolds, Mr. Kola Payne and Mr. Michael Carey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will take place immediately following at Colbert Cemetery.
