Phyllis A. Heald of Athens, Georgia, passed away on December 17. Born on December 12, 1930, in Waukegan, Illinois, to Andrew Kosir and Sylvia (Hintsa) Kosir, she earned a B.A. in Education in 1951 from Illinois State University and taught high school English before focusing on home life, including two children who survive her: Paul, born 1959, and Laura, born 1960. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Braasch, and grandchildren: Andrea, Valerie, Lewis, Margaret, Hannah, Henry, and Stuart; and great-grand-children: Nathaniel, Theodore, and Ozkar. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Heald, a professor who made homes with her in Gainesville, Florida; DeKalb, Illinois; and Okemos, Michigan.
