Perry Wirt Hopkins, 82, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on May 18, 2026, following an accidental fall. She was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Perry was known for her kindness and strength, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She enjoyed line dancing, Zumba, and senior fitness with her friends in Monroe. Perry was also an avid reader and could often be found at her local library. She had a long career as a claims manager with Liberty Mutual Insurance and cherished her life in Monroe with her husband, John Hubert Hopkins Jr. Together, they traveled throughout the United States and shared many fond memories of their adventures.

In addition to her husband, Perry is survived by her children, Christine Wirt Carter (Frank), Kathryn Wirt Grahn (Gary), and Carl Britton Wirt (Tracy); her grandchildren, Caroline Halferty, Christine Halferty Dwyer (Blake), Kelly Carter (fiancé, Sam Edwards), Tripp Carter, Morgen Wirt, and Lily Wirt; and her great-grandchildren, Zade Krummes and Kais Krummes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Hefner and Iris Northup. 

Perry will be remembered with love by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Perry's name be made to the Friends of the Library, Monroe-Walton County.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
